At Bush's funeral, former U.S. Senator Alan Simpson from Wyoming, delivered an original and spirited eulogy.
Among other comments, and in a jab to Trump, sitting there, he said that former president Bush "never hated anyone. He knew what his mother and my mother always knew: hatred corrodes the container it's carried in."
I loved that quote and I think it can be applied to all kinds of negative emotions like jealousy, resentment or envy.
In fact more generally speaking it should be:
“negativity corrodes the container it's carried in”.
One to remember!

Perfect is the enemy of good
I fully embrace this saying attributed to Voltaire. Looking back at my professional career, I simply regret not having made a more liberal use of, in the many business ventures I've been involved with.
While my perfectionism was often motivated by fear or guilt, I always knew - deep inside - that something good enough was vastly preferable to something close to perfection that would have cost too much in terms of time and resources. This truth applies even more in this era of rapid change and of constant evolution. There is no superfluous time left to guild the lily, else the perfectionist is left in the dust!
Something I found on Wikipedia, and in the same vein, is a quote from George Stigler, an economist, that I relate perfectly with: "If you never miss a plane, you're spending too much time at the airport.”

What we get to hear...
It's sometime amazing what we get to hear. It generally comes from clueless folks who don't think even once before words exit their mouth. They speak as they think; no barrier of any kind, no proofing and no censorship. It comes out pure, simple and most of the time... pretty stupid! This happened to me again recently and it was so unexpected that it left me in a mixture of amazement and speechlessness. I was then reminded of a quote by Alfred Capus (1858 – 1922), a French journalist and playwright, who once said “the kind man listens smiling about things he knows, told by someone who ignore them..” Definitely one of my favorites!
