Bear frenzy

Nothing ever gruesome happens in idyllic Park City and when a bear has been on the loose for the past four days, it immediately becomes the main headline on the local radio and newspaper.

Two days ago, a helicopter was flying low trying to spot the savage beast and our police force was fully mobilized to trap and book the visitor into our county jail.
Schools were in lock down alert and we were... amused! Everywhere in Colorado and all around Lake Tahoe, bears sightings are a daily occurrence and life goes on, bear or no bear. Here, in Park City, it was as if ISIS had attacked us.

As of tonight, the bear is still on the loose. Just be a little bit patient, sort of understanding and bear with us!

Early June, a bear was wandering through Newmarket residential neighbourhood close to the main thoroughfare.
Newmarket is 20 minutes north of Toronto.
The Minister of Natural Resources employees are the only allowed people to dart the bear to sleep and move it back to its natural habitat,
As these people took several hours before showing up, the local police department decided to take the matter in its own hand.
They just shot the bear, loaded the beast into the trunk of a pickup truck and left.
The bear was not aggressive and many residents and their kids enjoyed the activity of this bear climbing fences and frolicking on their lawns.
The next day, TV stations, newspapers and Canadians went bezerk.
Newmarket is not Baltimore or Ferguson but in Canada police officers shoot bear without warning and without the sacrosaint authorization from the Minister of Natural Resources.
